Call for Change of Name of Helion Flare
published by: jbborbo          December 23, 2017    14:44

The Helion Flare is the Official Publication of the BU Chemical Engineering Department. The word 'flare' refers to burning of flammable gas in industries to relieve unplanned pressure buildup during plant or partial plant startups and shutdowns. Industries that employ this burning are petroleum refinerieschemical plantsnatural gas processing plants as well as at oil or gas production sites having oil wellsgas wellsoffshore oil and gas rigs and landfills. But it was raised that the word 'Helion' comes from the Greek word 'helios' meaning 'sun.' Then the word 'Helion Flare' does not connect with our profession and has no physical meaning. The editorial board is hereby calling for submission for the name of the publication. The winning entry of any present student will receive PhP 300.00 as prize.

Submit your entries to the EIC (Ms. Cea) through her Facebook account or to the e-mail of the BUChE Department (buchemengg@gmail.com). Deadline of submission is January 15, 2018.
