The Bicol University College Entrance Examination for incoming first year students for the Academic Year 2018-2019 was released last March 2, 2018. There are 70 senior high school students who Qualified the quota for BS Chemical Engineering and 44 are Waitlisted for the Course. Mr. Rhunzted Cyrus Arcalas Completo topped the results for BSChE, which is also Top 2 in the overall University Ranking. There are (6) students who qualified for the course that make it to the Top Ten:
Among the Qualified in BSChE program, 46% are from Albay, 27% are from Camarines Sur, 17% are from Sorsogon and 8% are from Camarines Norte. Philippine Science High School in Goa, Camarines Sur got the highest number of passers (13), followed by BUCE Integrated Laboratory School (10), Ateneo de Naga University (7), Legazpi City Science High School and Tabaco National High School (5) and Bicol Regional Science High School (4) and University of Sto. Tomas of Legazpi and Bulan National High School (3). Science High Schools got the highest percentage of passers (38.6%), while National/Local High Schools got 22.9%, University High Schools got 35.7% and Private High Schools got 5.71%. There is also a passer from an International School in Al Jubail, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The BS Chemical Engineering program still got the highest quota score than all the courses offered by the University, with cut-off score of 90.6000. This is followed by BS Accountancy (90.5140), BS Mechanical Engineering (90.2300), BS Civil Engineering (90.1000) and BS Biology (89.7077) programs.
