Admissions to the BS ChE Program of the Department

​For Incoming first years

​

  1. Qualified Applicants are automatically eligible for Admission to the BSChE program. They may be interviewed for profiling purposes. Waitlisted Applicants are  accepted after the enrollment for Qualified Applicants; they too maybe interviewed for profiling purposes. DOST Scholars with no Chemical Engineering in their choice are classified as Waitlisted Applicants. 

  2. After  enrollment for Qualified (Q) and Waitlisted (W) Applicants, the number of slots available is determined. But during the enrollment of Q and W students,  All Below Quota (BQs) Applicants, students having ChE their Second Choice, and other students shall pass a copy their BUCET Results and Senior High School F-138 (Report Card) for initial evaluation. Deadline of submission is to be announced. An exam permit will be issued upon submission of the said documents. Pictures, Screenshots, or scanned documents and the Student Personal Data Sheet (SPDS, Download here) are to be sent to buchemicalenggdpt@bicol-u.edu.ph.

  3. All waiting applicants are to undergo a 1-Hour Lecture of one of the Senior Faculty of the Department of Chemical Engineering. Topics are upon the discretion of the Department.

  4. An exam is to be given based on the topic discussed in the Lecture. An interview may be given in the afternoon to confirm the slots and the determination of the student to take the course.

  5. Composite rating composing of BUCET Results, Science and Math Grades of F-138, the Exam Results and/or Interview shall be announced. Those who qualified based on the number of available slots may enroll.

  6. Additional Points may be given to DOST scholars and senior high school honor graduates.

Transferees and Shifters

​

  • Aside from the University requirements for accepting transferees and shifters, the Department hereby adopts additional requirements. A grade requirement of general weighted average of 2.00 or equivalent or better is imposed; with grade in any Mathematics and Chemistry subject no lower than 1.75 or equivalent. An interview is to be conducted to determine his readiness and eagerness to take the course. An aptitude exam may be given. Acceptance is based on the number of available slots and the approval of the Chairman.
