PIChE-JCV and BUChE Quizzers' Guild spearhead the 3rd Tri-Sci-Math Wizard Tournament

The BUChE Quizzers Guild and the Philippine Institute of Chemical Engineers -Junior Chapter-V (PIChE-JCV) spearhead the 3rd Tri-Sci-Math Wizard Tournament, held at the Chemical Engineering Building this December 5, 2018. The Tournament is part of the BUCENG's first Technofair 2018, and one of the battles of the Vessels, the cohort of ChE students.

As history of the Tri-Sci-Math Wizard Tournament, the first TSMWT was held last September 2009, as part of the BUlympics 2009, as part of the pointing system of the inter-college competitions. It was chaired by Mr. Michael P. Preña, then the future 7th Placer of the November 2012 ChE Licensure Exam. The second was on September 2013, as part of the celebrations of the Chemical Engineering Week 2013.

The Tournament has two (2) phases, the Elimination Phase and the Final Phase.  The Elimination phase is a written exam, held in the morning at the BUChE Building. The Final Phase  was held in the afternoon, and is composed of three (3) Rounds: Easy, Moderate and Difficult Rounds, with 15 questions each and have eliminations after each Round.

There are 43 teams participated in the Quiz show, or a total of 129 students, including two teams composing of Electrical, Civil and Electrical Engineering students. Sixteen (16) teams advanced to the Final Phase, with only eight (8) teams advancing to the Difficult Round.
​
Below are the winners of the Tournament. the First and Second are 4th year ChE students, while the Third are CE and EE students. Cash Prizes and Certificates are given to the winners.
